Weight Loss Pills – A Surprise in Every Bottle
Six weeks ago I was like you – Overweight, unhealthy, and broke. That is, of course, until I discovered the miracle of Triple X Powered Mega Cut Booster Pack!
Sound familiar? It’s a formula for marketing over the counter weight loss pills that takes an already perfect body, claims amazing weight loss results without effort and creates a multi-billion dollar industry exploiting the desire to look and feel better than most of us do.
If the cost of succumbing to this marketing was simply losing of a few dollars, we might be tempted to say caveat emptor – let the buyer beware. However, the true cost of consuming these unregulated pills may be considerably higher. Instead of just robbing your wallet, they may be robbing your health as well.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently investigated over the counter weight loss pills and issued a warning on more than 28 of them. The problem was that many of them contained undeclared ingredients. These ingredients are illegal and are not supposed to be included in any products sold in the United States or are restricted to use by prescription only. The list of ingredients provided by the FDA as being the source of the undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients includes:
- Bumetanide – a potent diuretic available by prescription only
- Cetilistat – an experimental obesity drug not approved for marketing in the United States
- Fenproporex – an amphetamine derivative not approved for marketing in the United States
- Fluoxetine – an antidepressant available by prescription only
- Furosemide – a potent diuretic available by prescription only
- Phenytoin – an anti-seizure medication available by prescription only
- Phenolphthalein – a solution used in chemical experiments and a suspected cancer-causing agent that is not approved for marketing in the United States.
- Rimonabant – an appetite suppressant drug not approved for marketing in the United States because of severe side effects
- Sibutramine – an appetite suppressant available by prescription only and a controlled substance
