Minneapolis was recently ranked the number two most bicycle-friendly city in the nation. Technically, this makes the entire city of Minneapolis a popular biking trail. The city has dedicated over 40 miles of city streets to cyclists and 83 miles of paths located off the streets making it a perfect place for using cycling to increase activity levelsĀ as part of your weight loss program.
Everywhere you turn in Minneapolis, there is a safe, well maintained path for cyclists to enjoy, If you are still hankering for a dedicated bike trail, you can always jaunt over to Cedar Lake Trail or Kenilworth Trail. While most of the trails and baths for bikes throughout Minneapolis are paved, there are a few that are dirt paths. These paths can be difficult, if not impossible, to maneuver safely during winter and spring. Be sure to ride only the city maintained paved paths during both winter and spring so that you don’t become stuck in mud.
