Low Fat Snacking
When you think of snacks, you might be used to thinking about calorie-laden, fat soaked cake snacks, chips, cookies and the like. Unfortunately, these types of foods as snacks can make your weight balloon and need to be kicked to the curb if you want to start dropping pounds. One of the best adjustments you can make in your weight loss diet is to learn to enjoy low fat snacking.
Low fat snacking involves snacks like reduced fat cheese and peanut butter, fruits and vegetables that are low in saturated and unsaturated fats. They curb your hunger pains while keeping your fat consumption in check. These are not guilt free snacks though. You can not eat endless amounts of low fat snacks and expect to still lose weight. The snacks still have calories that must be burned off through lifestyle or exercise in order to not be stored in the body as fat.
Low fat snacks can give you a little break from diet monotony and can fill in the blanks between meals. To avoid being tempted by high fat snacks, be sure to carry a baggie of low fat snacks with you each day.
